So, I had a special request to make this Woodlyn Wolf Cowl from The Velvet Acorn on Etsy. Her shop features both crochet and knit patterns for headwear in all sizes. I purchased the crochet version, and finished it in an afternoon as the yarn is extra chunky and works up really quick. For the toddler size, myself and the woman who asked me to make this for her daughter found it was too thick to be worn comfortably. If you are wanting to try this pattern yourself, I would definitely recommend purchasing the knit version for this particular cowl as I found this yarn knit nicer than it did crochet.
As I mentioned The Velvet Acorn's online shop features both knit and crochet patterns. I took the measurements of the crocheted cowl and just recreated this knit version myself. I kept the original crocheted ears and pull-tie at the bottom for the knitted one, and just realized now that I forgot to put the buttons on! Oops haha.
There was enough yarn left over to knit up two adult beanie toques.
I created a simple pattern, the wool was a size 6, knitted on 8mm needles.
- Cast on 50
- K, P across for 4 rows
- K for about 4-5"
- Dec 5 sts every second round after that.
I finished off when I had only 5 sts left on my needles.
