yes! Finally, started and finished a project in one go, and they are for me. If you're reading this and you're not a crafter, then it may seem an odd thing to say... but trust me 9/10 (or more) things that I make are for someone else or no one in particular.
Using Patons Kroc sock yarn I made a simple pattern, top down. I purchased this yarn the day I found out I was pregnant. My son is now 14 months old... so not bad completed within 2 years! Haha. I already have my eye one some other sock yarns but I am determined to stick to my goal this year and use what's in my stash. So, new yarns will have to wait for the new year!
I am so pleased that they fit well. I made them using double pointed needles, which I don't mind except for the making them the same size that I dreaded. I almost always knit my mittens on two needles... flat from two balls of yarn so they are the same size without having to think about it... but I am thinking I will try dpns for mittens next (which will be soon as I will soon be starting Christmas presents). (Oooh may just have to buy some yarn for Christmas presents... that can be an exception to my rule...) Definitely feeling encouraged to make another pair of socks soon though.
I wish I could say I am now onto the next project, but truthfully back to the last one. Knitting a baby blanket. I thought I was getting a head start on it (started in January I think)... but baby was just born two weeks ago... hopefully get this off the needles soon rather than later!
