Well this is a first. I had an idea and six hours later this is what I've come up with. I have a birthday party for a 2 year old little man tomorrow afternoon. I hope they like it. I am not completely satisfied with this project. I used a log of satin stitch and I am pretty pleased with this as I remember the first project I used that on-it has gotten easier. I am not a big fan of how square it is. I may round out the corners a bit, add mirrors, separate the head lights and possibly make it more 3D with 2-3" band between the 2 panels? Or just separate wheels? I don't like how the wheels fold underneath. Over all I am happy to have completed this on time.
I knitted this set sans pattern. I really like working with this yarn-Bernat Wool Ease. The selection of knitting needles up here in Thompson is sad (just the local Walmart) I was unable to get DPNs larger than 5mm. I believe I knitted these on 6.5mm circulars-the first and only bamboo needles I have bought/used. I really liked them however I was left sewing seams. I have yet to knit mittens on DPNs, which is the main reason I don't gift mittens-often. I think seamed mittens and toques look novice. The good thing about knitting on 2 needles is that I can do both mittens at once and I don't need to follow a pattern-just go ahead and knit. The next ones I make I will try DPNs. I made a scarf for my mom for Christmas and was going to make her a matching pair of mittens or a toque. Maybe the toque will be my next project.
Today I finished an afghan I bought yarn for close to 8 years ago! Talk about DESTASH... completing a dusty UFO (unfinished object) ((: Not only is having an empty project bin a great feeling but also gifting it in time for Christmas and starting a new project knowing the previous is complete!
